This Privacy Policy describes how the Sales Tax / VAT Calculator (“the site”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you visit and use it. The short version: the amounts you calculate never leave your device.
1. Information we do not collect
- We have no backend, no database, no user accounts and no sign-up.
- The amounts, rates and currencies you enter are processed entirely by JavaScript running in your browser. They are not transmitted to us and are not stored on our servers.
- We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, payment details or tax identification number.
- Refreshing or closing the page discards everything you typed.
2. Cookies and local storage
The site itself uses your browser’s localStorage — a small amount of text kept on your own device — for strictly necessary, non-tracking preferences:

We set no advertising or analytics cookies of our own. These entries contain no personal data and cannot identify you. You can clear them at any time via your browser settings (usually Settings › Privacy › Clear browsing data / site data), and the site will keep working.
3. Third-party advertising (Google AdSense and partners)
Placeholder boxes labelled “Advertisement” appear on this site. If and when advertising is enabled:
- We may use Google AdSense, which together with third-party vendors and ad partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve personalised ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or the third-party opt-out pages at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu.
- Third-party ad vendors may also use cookies to serve ads on this site. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies, not ours.
Choosing “Reject non-essential” on the consent bar records your preference on your device so that non-essential/advertising cookies are not enabled for you.
4. Information that may be processed by your host or network
Like any website, the infrastructure that delivers these files may automatically see standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the pages requested. We do not operate that logging and do not use it to profile you. Where applicable, that processing is the responsibility of the hosting provider under its own privacy notice.
5. Children
This site is a general-audience utility tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that applies). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, the GDPR in the EU/UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not collect personal data about you through this tool, there is typically nothing for us to provide or delete. Requests relating to advertising cookies should be directed to the relevant ad provider.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this page if the site changes — for example, if analytics or advertising are switched on. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
